SQL Application Support Analyst required by a reputable manufacturing company based in Acton, offering a salary of up to £28k. The company is experiencing a period of great success and is looking to extend the IT team to support the expanding workforce. The SQL Application Support Analyst will be adept in all things SQL, including creating server logins, database ID’s and assigning permissions. They will have exceptional communication skills and be comfortable supporting end users within all departments of the organisation, as well as an eagerness to expand their knowledge within IT and develop their skills further.
Day to Day, the SQL Application Support Analyst will mainly deal with the support of the bespoke management system. This will include identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving database issues, logging any issues raised via telephone or email on the helpdesk system whilst following procedures and policies that are in place.
Training will be provided for the workings of the bespoke management system and any issues that are unable to be resolved will be escalated to the appropriate member of staff.
Relevant skills and experience:
- Experience in the support of MS SQL applications with knowledge of commonly used concepts, procedures and practices including security and maintenance, disaster recovery, networks, servers, and operating systems
- Knowledgeable with high availability strategies for MS SQL environments, blocking, log shipping, deadlocking, replication, index management, configuration, and patching
- Excel at working to KPI’s and SLA’s within an IT environment
