Support Infrastructure Analyst required by a Professional Services Firm based in Richmond. You will liaise between the 1st and 2nd Line Support Team and the outsourced 3rd party vendors and suppliers.

This role is for an Infrastructure Support Analyst to work within the IT Department of 12 Supporting 180 users and is to take responsibility for the co-ordination of work relating to Infrastructure and 3rd line support topics. You will work with the outsourced managed service provider and various other suppliers. This will cover areas such as servers, end clients, cloud services, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide 3rd line support for the Helpdesk, resolving infrastructure related issues within SLA targets
  • Management and troubleshooting of incidents relating to:
  • Creation and management of scripting when required (PowerShell)
    • Active Directory including Group Policy
    • Server environment (Wintel)
    • Telephony and related infrastructure including Contact Centre and Call Recording applications
    • Working with the team to support SharePoint/Teams
  • Creation and management of scripting when required (PowerShell)
  • Working with the Infra Hosting provider to perform proactive maintenance of Infrastructure environment as required
  • Working with the Security Lead to minimise the risk of security breaches within the PC/Server environment (via Anti-Virus, patching, domain policies, server hardening etc)
  • Maintain the application deployment mechanism for PCs/Servers
  • To ensure compliance with IT infrastructure policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments within IT
  • Delivering an effective operation built on development and professional standards
  • Proactive ownership of complex operational issues and provide appropriate support to other team members
  • To be a technical expert within the team, advising and supporting accordingly, providing guidance and advice in the area of best practise for managing the IT infrastructure.
  • Act as the 2nd/3rdline technical support for any issues that require escalation, ensuring timely responses to requests.
  • To work closely with Group requirements such as regular scans and are aware of any upcoming changes that will impact our infrastructure or security environments.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of appropriate documentation, security and controls over all IT process, systems and infrastructure.
  • Manage IT/Infrastructure projects
  • Assist with centrally managed IT and Security projects when required
  • To assist as directed on any other business projects and tasks required by the business but with the ultimate aim of supporting the UKs business strategy and financial objectives.
  • Develop, produce and maintain IT documentation and IT procedures as required

Skills, Competencies & Personal Qualities:

  • Strong Infrastructure and end user support skills and experience
  • Contribute with ideas and suggestions on continuous service improvement
  • Strong experience of incident and problem management including 3rd party service providers
  • Good operational understanding of service management standards and tools
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with a range of colleagues both in the wider organisation, and with external stakeholders
  • Ownership of tasks through to full completion and appropriate handover.
  • Logical troubleshooting capability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to show empathy with business unit without losing objectivity.
  • The will to work in a key support role that provides the business scope to meet its goals and aspirations.
