Applications Support Analyst required by an expanding organisation within the financial sector based in Aylesbury. Paying up to £50k, the Applications Support Analyst will be experienced in 1st and 2nd line support within a Linux/UNIX environment including Cobol, C#, C, SQL, PostGres, security access management and the support of enterprise applications.
The Applications Support Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the applications and support from development SMEs and infrastructure suppliers. They will assess incidents in 3rd party applications and support in a 1st line capacity in regards to installation, configuration and data. Post-incident analysis will be a major responsibility and allow the Application Support Analyst to carry out development work to ensure the minimisation of the problem repeating. They will also be responsible for assisting with code changes and contributing to application improvements, creating the appropriate documentation along the way.
Relevant Skills and Responsibilities:
Technical skill within Linux/UNIX, Cobol, C#, C, SQL and PostGres
Hands-on experience with the support of enterprise applications
Ability to develop and understand technical documentation as well as interpret that to end users when training
An ITIL certification is desirable
