2nd Line Support Engineer required by a Managed Service Provider based in the Claygate area of Surrey. Our client works within a range of different sectors, working with SME’s to large scale companies within the UK, providing them with a friendly and personable approach to IT support paralleled with top quality service. The 2nd Line Support Engineer will be a vital part of a support team of 6 providing a range of IT support from printer maintenance, creating new users to migration work.
Day to Day, the 2nd line Support Engineer will troubleshoot remote and on-site issues for clients including telephone support. The 2nd Line Support Engineer will be adept in supporting Active Directory and Office 365, hardware maintenance and deploying and maintaining Anti-Virus software. Clients may also request that the 2nd line Support Engineer lend their assistance and expertise to long scale projects, so there will also be an opportunity to acquire project experience.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

– Full UK driving License
– Skilled in supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365 and Exchange
– Experienced in the deployment and support of Anti-Virus software
– Adept at working within and supporting a Windows environment
– Exposure to Backup software such as Veeam, Backup Exec
– Skilled in supporting DNS and DHCP
– Experienced in supporting Anti-Virus software such as Sophos
– Knowledgeable with visualisation technologies
– Skilled in Cisco and HP switch support and configuration
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

– Experience in the installation and configuration of Windows Server Cluster
– Exposure to working within an Azure/AWS environment
– Experience with Powershell scripting
– Exposure to SAN Storage solutions
This is a role where the 2nd Line Support Engineer will be providing support to clients face to face and a personable and approachable manner would be beneficial in forming meaningful relationships with clients.
